Children Enter to School Ready to Learn

PARENTS ARE FIRST TEACHERS  100% of Parents will have access to be supported to be their child's first teacher through the home visiting AVANCE & HIPPY programs

 

MORE ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY PRESCHOOL  Our community will expand access to high quality licensed family child care and early childhood education providers.

 

EARLY LITERACY FROM BIRTH 100% of Parents have acess to baby wellness checks and are introduced to the importance of early literacy through the Welcome Every Baby home visitation.

 

CHILDREN ENTER SCHOOL READY TO LEARN Children have access to Pre-K Summer Camp.

 

POSITIVE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL FOUNDATIONS Teachers, Family Childcare Providers are trained in teh CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid model. 

 

ALL TEACHERS WORK TOGETHER Preschool and K-3 teachers work together through strong articulation and participate in professional development opportunities.

Children Master Grade-Level Content Standards Through Grade 3

SUPPORT EXISTS IN AND AFTER SCHOOL Students have access to the STAR Enterprise, the Accelerated Reader Program, Migrant Homework Club & Saturday School Extension, ASES after school program, AmeriCorps Tutors and Summer School - English Language Development Academy.

 

 

INVESTING IN TEACHERS Strong professional development is avaiable for K-3 teachers for curriculum, teaching strategies, and methodologies development to enhance the Common Core State Standards. 

Children Are Healthy & Thriving

PROVIDERS WORKING TOGETHER Health Linkages, Marian Hospital, and the Food Bank coordinate efforts to promote nutrition education.

 

COMMUNITY EFFORT "Promotoras de Salud" work with community families to promote culturally approapriate healthy eating and exercise habits at home.

 

 

HEALTHY FOOD IN SCHOOL Children will have access to nutritious foods at school.

Families are actively engaged and Serve as a Strong Support for their child.

PARENTS ARE CHILD"S TEACHER WEB, AVANCE, Head Start, HIPPY and Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) help parents understand they are their child's first teacher. 

 

PARENTS ARE LEADERS Through our Parent Ambassador Program, parents and families become leaders in their homes, schools and communities. 

 

PARENTS HAVE CONCRETE SUPPORT All families are aware of services and support available through the Family Resource Center and THRIVE Guadalupe. THRIVE will build a community center with access to emergency food and resources, with space for adult education/ESL classes from Allan Hancock College, recreational opportunities, a medical clinic, AVANCE, parent education and workshops (child development, parenting, health, literacy, counseling, etc.)
