Who We are
THRIVE Guadalupe is a partnership with THRIVE Santa Barbara County and First 5 Santa Barbara County with the goal to create a large systematic change supported by a collective impact moel and the compounded power of parents, schools, service agencies, and funders working together and being united by a shared vision. A core principle in this partnership is parent involvement because when parents are engagement in their children's success at every stage, student success rates at every stage, student success rates soar. By investing heavily in the early years, seeing each parent as their child's first teacher, THRIVE's deliberate effort is to promote a strong educational foundation that provides evidence-based parent education programs and high quality pre-Kindergarten learning opportunities to maximize school readiness and success. While our current work concentrates on birth through 3rd grade, ultimately, our work will cover the entire span from cradle to college/career.
"The promise of our collective future in Santa Barbara is linked to strong neighborhoods whose residents are healthy, educated, empowered, and inspired to take on the challenges of our times."
- Lois Mitchell, Orfalea Foundation's President
